Chapter 3.  Working with profiles

About profiles

Profiles are used to configure your network interface for different locations or networks. Profiles contain:

  • Ip address

  • DNS settings

  • Scripts to start at connect / disconnect

  • Encryption settings

You can, for example, configure a profile for your wireless network at home, for a wireless hotspot or for the wireless network at work.
